A Tidier Workflow Board, Sharper Inboxes & Behind-the-Scenes Hardening
A bunch of focused improvements this week: the Workflow Board reads more cleanly, both inboxes are easier to live with, and we've quietly tightened up a lot under the hood.
The Workflow Board you actually want to look at
The board is doing more work for you now — both visually on each card and in how columns are arranged.
- Cards tell you more at a glance — Cards now show a coloured avatar with the patient's initials and a subject chip so you can spot referrals, incoming documents, and clinical documents instantly. On triage steps the card calls out the triage category, addressed doctor, and appointment type; on appointment-scheduling steps it shows the requested practitioner, due date, and an Overdue or Due Soon badge.
- Reorder columns from the board itself — Click Reorder columns in the top-right to drag your steps into the order you want them displayed.
- Hide columns you don't need on the board — In the same dialog, click the eye icon next to a step to take it off the board entirely. Items at that step are still tracked — they just don't clutter the view. Bring it back any time.
- Start a workflow from a template — On Settings → Workflow definitions you'll see a new Start from template button. Pick a published template and we'll deep-copy every step, transition, action, and condition into a fresh workflow you can edit. Great for spinning up a new variant without rebuilding from scratch.
Clinical Inbox: clearer when things go wrong, smoother when they don't
- Errored documents are no longer a dead end — Failed documents now show why they failed right next to the filename, and offer a Retry button to re-run preprocessing, or Delete in the row menu if there's nothing to recover. Terminal failures (virus detected, missing file) hide Retry, because there's nothing left to retry.
- A new "Redirected" document type — When a referral has been sent elsewhere and you only need to keep a record on file, classify it as Redirected. The document is filed against the patient with no triage, no new referral, and no workflow item — clean record, zero ceremony.
- Manual Push to EMR — On Unread Documents and on the patient record's Clinical Documents tab, you can now push a single document to your EMR on demand with a Push to EMR button. Useful when automatic export is off or you want to be explicit about what gets sent. (Requires EMR Document Export to be enabled and the right permission.)
Practice Inbox: forwards and bulk actions
- Attach files when you forward a conversation — The Forward tab now has a drop zone for additional attachments (PDFs, images, documents, up to 20 MB each). The original messages and their attachments are always included; the new uploader is for anything extra you need to send along.
- Multi-select makes more sense — When you tick more than one conversation, the detail panel now shows a clear "N conversations selected" prompt instead of one random thread, so it's obvious that the bulk actions in the toolbar apply to the whole selection.
- Silent-dropped emails land in Spam — When the inbox automatically drops an email (e.g. for a known bad sender), it's now filed in the Spam folder with a drop reason, instead of disappearing.
Plus
- Better landing-page routing — In your profile settings, you can now set which screen you see first when you log in.
- Mobile triage is easier to read — clearer column distinction on smaller screens.
- Lots of behind-the-scenes hardening — We've upgraded the underlying platform, tightened our security tooling, restructured how we run code analysis, and tidied a long tail of internal plumbing. You shouldn't notice anything except the app being a bit more reliable.
