Office 365 Email + SMS in the Practice Inbox
Two big additions to your communication toolkit this week — connect Microsoft 365 mailboxes directly to the Practice Inbox, send and receive SMS alongside email, and save on long SMS messages with smart link delivery.
Microsoft 365 email integration
If your practice runs on Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online), you can now connect mailboxes directly to the Practice Inbox using the Microsoft Graph API — no more relying on IMAP forwarding or shared inboxes.
- One-click admin consent — Connect your tenant once and authorise mailboxes from a single approval flow. No app passwords, no per-mailbox OAuth dance.
- Centrally managed — Your IT admin grants access at the organisation level; individual mailboxes are then enabled by Clinically staff as needed.
- Native sync — Inbound and outbound messages flow through Graph, so behaviour mirrors what users see in Outlook.

SMS in the Practice Inbox (paid add-on)
The Practice Inbox now handles two-way SMS conversations alongside email. Patients can text your practice number, replies thread into the inbox, and your team can compose, reply, and resolve SMS conversations from the same screen they already use for email.
- Two-way SMS threading per patient
- Compose new SMS messages from the inbox
- All the inbox tools you already know — assignment, resolution, reports, auto-advance — work for SMS too
This is a paid add-on. Reach out to support to enable it for your practice.
Smart SMS template delivery — save on long messages
When sending an SMS template longer than a single segment, you can now configure the template to deliver as a short signed link instead. The patient receives a brief message with a one-tap link to view the full content on a secure page.
- Lower SMS costs — A 4-segment SMS becomes a single segment plus a link.
- Better experience — Long messages render properly on a web page rather than being chopped into multiple texts.
- Configurable per template — Choose between full-text and signed-link delivery on each template.
Configure delivery mode under Settings → Communication Templates.
